The long-awaited West Pine project has been funded with cooperation from the Oregon Department of Transportation. Various survey work needed to provide data for the project's design is expected to begin within the next few weeks. Expect to see paint located on the ground and survey crews gathering data. This project aims to modify West Pine Street to accommodate better pedestrian and Bicycle movements, including new sidewalks and widened bicycle lanes.

The project is to be designed and constructed within the existing City right of way. There may be a need to acquire small pieces of right of way, and temporary construction and slope easements. ODOT right-of-way agents will contact those who will be affected by these acquisitions.

This project will convert West Pine, keeping the existing two lanes and adding features for Bike and pedestrian improvements. Pedestrian improvements will include sidewalks separated from the street by landscape rows. In addition, an existing culvert under West Pine Street at Griffin Creek is to be replaced.

Design is expected to finish by the end of 2025, with construction in spring of 2026.
