Police Support Specialists
Police Support Specialists
Our Police Support Specialists serve as the front line staff for the public service counter and answer all phone calls to the police department during business hours. They assist the Police Officers and Detectives with many research tasks, perform crime analysis, and compile crime statistics. In addition, they are responsible for the intake and disposition of property and evidence, release of impounded vehicles and records checks.
The Central Point Police Department utilizes the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and the Oregon State Police Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) on a regular basis. These systems require specialized training and certification in order to operate their programs and the Central Point Police Department ensures certification is fulfilled by all staff members. The Police Support Specialists are responsible for accurately entering, processing, maintaining, and controlling all police reports into these databases.
Our Police Support Specialists can help our citizens with a variety of different tasks. Below are a list of the most frequent requests from our staff. Please select the option that best fits your needs to be directed to a different page.
