Crime Prevention

One of the highest priorities of the Central Point Police Department is crime prevention; to anticipate, monitor and proactively deter crime.  Facilitating neighborhood watch groups, maintaining the appearance of our neighborhoods, educating our community on scam prevention, performing focused patrol, and ensuring our schools and students are safe, with the help of our school resource officers, are just some of the steps our department takes each day to prevent crime in our community.

Some of the specific ways in which we work with the community to prevent and mitigate crime are our crime watch surveillance program, neighborhood watch groups, scam prevention resources, trespass agreements and vacation house checks.
