Vacation House Checks

VACATION HOUSE CHECKS 

As a service to our citizens, the Central Point Police Department offers free vacation house checks for citizens who are living in single-family homes or duplexes.

Trained V.I.P.S. (Volunteers In Police Service) will perform an inspection of your property while you are away on vacation. These checks include a perimeter check, physical and/or visual check of all doors and windows, verification of vehicles left on the property, and verification of any people found on the property. 

This service helps to deter potential burglars and provides for additional security while your house is unoccupied.  If, by chance, a burglary occurs at your residence while you’re away, the individual that you specify as your emergency contact will be notified.

Houses not eligible for the service are:
* Houses under construction and unoccupied.
* Houses unoccupied and listed for sale/show by realtors.
* Houses outside the city limits of Central Point.
