BUILDING DIVISION
The Building Division helps ensure that our community’s buildings are safe through the review of plans, issuance of permits, and inspection of all commercial and residential construction, including plumbing, mechanical, and electrical. Building staff work with contractors and citizens to help ensure that their construction projects meet the state code standards. We are available to answer your permitting and building code questions for your specific project.
Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (closed from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)
Building Permit applications and other submittals will be accepted via email whenever possible. When the permit is ready, you'll be contacted via email or phone with the payment amount. After payment is received the permit will be issued.
Electronic Plan Review
The Central Point Building Department offers an online permit submittal through the Oregon Building Codes Division called Oregon ePermitting. Contractors are able to apply for and purchase permits online and schedule inspections through the website. A link can be found in the links menu or by clicking on ePermitting. When fees collected consist of pass-through fees (SDC fees, school construction excise tax, etc.), payment is required in the form of a check or cash, credit card is not accepted.
An application form, which you can find in the forms, or supporting documents, for the specific work (building/structural, mechanical, electrical or plumbing) must be included along with associated plans and submittal documents. Additional information can be found to describe specific submittal requirements in the supporting documents.
If you are a property owner (homeowner) acting as a general contractor or applying for permits for work on your property you must also complete the property owner statement.
