Did you know that in an average home with older plumbing fixtures, up to a third of indoor water use is from the toilet? Older model toilets can use 3 to 7 gallons per flush. That's a lot of wasted water! New models of toilets are now available that use much less water per flush. To encourage the use of these more efficient toilets, the City of Central Point offers a credit on your water bill if you upgrade to a qualified toilet.
Central Point water customers can receive a credit of up to $85 with the purchase and installation of a new WaterSense certified dual-flush, or 1.28-gallon or less per flush model (up to $85 for the first toilet replaced and recycled, and $40 thereafter per toilet replaced and recycled). For eligibility requirements and instructions, see the application form below.
Once installed, the new toilet will then provide years of savings on water charges. Just how much depends on the size of your current toilet and the number of people using it. With WaterSense certified toilets, you’ll flush about 70 percent less water than with a toilet installed prior to 1994, and 20 percent less than the current standard 1.6 gallon per flush toilet. You might find that you’ll save even more since hidden leaks in old toilets are very common.
Look for the WaterSense logo when shopping for other plumbing products too. Even without rebates, installing them just makes sense, helping make it easy to save water every day.
Read the application instructions linked below before applying for the rebate here.
