Response to Questions for RFP Maintenance Bid – December 14, 2015
1. Page IV of quality specifications 1.6 Spray license required, 1.9 states none required. Please
clarify which areas are the contractors responsibility to maintain and which will be handled by
Parks.
The spraying that would be done is just localized spraying by the hired contractor. We have another
contract for large area and bed spraying.
2. Is there a mandatory pre-bid as described in item #2, 2.2 Mandatory Pre-Bid?
I forgot to take this out when I re-submitted the bid. We had scheduled a pre-bid meeting for all
contractors when we first put out the bid. I changed to just questions and that was missed when
re-submitted. Questions are being answered and placed on the website in lieu of the pre-bid
meeting.
3. Item IV “Watering” 1.2 calls for contractor to make adjustments. Will Contractor have access to
time clocks/buildings? Will City make adjustments based on Contractor communication?
This is a little of both- We do provide access to most areas, but are counting on the contractor to communicate with our staff to ensure that proper watering is taking place.
4. Parks Maps:
Item 1. Twin Creeks Parks, no estimated acreage stated. Is Civic Park acreage inclusive with Twin
Creeks Park? (Bid sheet requires separate line items).
Twin Creeks actually has three areas- the large field is called civic park approximately 8
acres. The other area is the park with all the gazebo locations it is about 3 acres. The final area
is called Griffin Oaks Park it is a play structure, grass and grassy paths that lead from Silver
Creek to Haskell.
Item 4. Don Jones Park listed at 0.25 acres?
The part that is listed is actually for the burm area. Don Jones is just under 8 acres. Item 6.
Flannigan Park listed at 5.46 acres?
This is the correct acreage. It is long and narrow along the path that is from Beall to Joseph and
then the area on the west side of the park.
Items 8, 9, 10 and 11. No highlighting shown for park/ maintenance area definition.
This did not show up on the final document.
8. Nadine is a Pocket Park that is under .24 acres
9. Griffin Creek is the grassy area between Griffin Creek and Haskell an open area that involves
maintenance only 2-3 times per year.
10. Hanley Pocket Park is the grassy area that is right on the corner of Pine and Hanley.
11. Scenic Hwy, 99 Orth this is the mow strip from scenic all the way to Orth it is from the street
to the fence line.
