The overall goal of the Planning Division is to enhance the quality of life for current and future residents as defined in the Central Point Strategic Plan through the implementation of City's comprehensive plan and current land use planning program. In doing this, the Planning Division makes every effort to provide opportunities for public participation in the City's planning process.
The Planning staff act as advocates for neighborhood planning, and the Division strives to ensure that zoning, subdivisions, and development regulations are relevant and beneficial to the City of Central Point. Planning Staff assist the City Council, City Administration, Planning Commission, and Citizens Advisory Committee with issues related to planning and development. We work to preserve and promote a high quality and livable community that reflects Central Point's culture, population, history and sense of place.
Current planning efforts primarily focus on development review and zoning administration activities. Each month, the Planing Division responds to a variety of requests that include:
Variances
Zone Changes
Site Plans
Plan Revisions
Planned Unit Development
Land Divisions
General Zoning Information, etc.
The Planning Division also manages a variety of long-term and special projects including the following:
