Overview

The City of Central Point will consider amendments to the Flood Damage Prevention standards and requirements in Chapter 8.24 of the Central Point Municipal Code (CPMC) The purpose of the Flood Damage Prevention chapter is to promote the public health, safety, and general welfare; reduce the annual cost of flood insurance; and to minimize public and private losses due to flood conditions in the City of Central Point. The proposal reflects changes in the text in order to conform to FEMA guidance and standards in order to maintain consistency with the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

Review Procedure & Approval Criteria

Text amendments to land use and development regulations are reviewed using Legislative (Type IV) procedures. This requires consideration and recommendation by the Citizen's Advisory Committee and two (2) public hearings. One public hearing is conducted by the Planning Commission and the second by the City Council. 

In rendering a decision to approve or deny the proposed amendments, the City Council must find that the proposed changes are consistent with the approval criteria in CPMC 17.10.500

Public Participation

You are invited to participate in the decision-making process for the proposed land development code amendments by submitting written comments and/or speaking at the Citizen's Advisory Committee meeting or one of the public hearings.
