In addition to health insurance and retirement, the city offers other great benefits.  Benefits may vary for different employee groups depending on negotiated labor agreements. 

Paid Time Off - full-time eligible employees accrue 12 days of sick leave annually, vacation based on their years of service, and receive paid 14 paid holidays.

Life Insurance - the city pays the premium on a Mutual of Omaha term life insurance policy for eligible employees.   Employees may elect to purchase additional, voluntary life insurance at their own expense.

Long Term Disability Insurance - the city pays the premium on a Mutual of Omaha long term disability policy for eligible employees.  

Health Reimbursement Account - the city contributes to an HRA/VEBA that may be used by employees to pay for uninsured health care expenses.

Flexible Spending Account - employees may elect to participate in a Flexible Spending Account, setting aside pre-tax dollars to pay for uninsured health care and/or dependent care expenses.

Supplemental Insurance - employees may elect to purchase supplemental Aflac insurance coverage.

Tuition Assistance - employees may receive reimbursement for a percentage of college tuition expenses for work-related coursework.

Employee Assistance Program - the city makes EAP services from UpRise Health available to employees to help them work to privately resolve problems that may interfere with work, family and life in general. Services include 24-hour Crisis Help, in-person counseling, online consultations, website resources, and a variety of life-balance resources.
