Summary
The applicant is requesting Site Plan and Architectural Review approval to construct an approximately 7,582 square foot gymnasium on the property of the existing Mae Richardson Elementary School located at 200 W Pine Street. The 5.92 acre property is within the Civic zoning district in the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Overlay and is identified on the Jackson County Assesor's Map as 37S 2W 10AB, Tax Lot 1200.

Review Procedures & Standards for Approval
New structures greater than 5,000 square feet are Major Projects and subject to a Type II Site Plan and Architectural Review. Per CPMC 17.05.300, a Type II application requires notice be provided to property owners within 250-ft and a 14-day written comment period. Following the comment period, the Community Development Director will render a decision on the applicaiton based on its demonstrated compliance with the applicable critiera, which include the following:

How to Submit Written Comments
To participate in the local decision making process, you are invited to submit written comments until the close of business on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.. This is an opportunity raise issues and present evidence in support of or opposition to the proposal. A statement of the issues that may provide the basis for an appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals must be raised in writing and with sufficient specificity to enable the decision maker to respond to the issue. After the close of the comment period a written decision will be made, a copy of which will be mailed to anyone who submitted written comments or who is otherwise legally entitled to notice.

All appeals must be in written form consistent with the procedures set forth in Section 17.05.300(G) of the Central Point Municipal Code
