The second year of the Plant a Thousand Daffodils project, a partnership between the Central Point Parks and Recreation Foundation and the Central Point Parks Department, has once again been a great success! We want to thank the following financial and in-kind donors for helping to spread daffodil joy this fall:

It took dozens of volunteers more than 60 hours to plant 2,250 daffodil bulbs in these five public areas last fall: Don Jones Park (hill side area), Twin Creeks Park (west side), Don and Flo Bohnert Farm Park (west side), Scenic Middle School Park, and William Mott Memorial Park. Watch for their cheerful flowers this spring. Additionally, 500 bulbs purchased by the City of Central Point were planted at the Taylor Road roundabout with a lot of help from the folks at Shooting Star Nursery. This area will be quite a sight come spring!
Seventy-five fourth-grade students at Mae Richardson Elementary School planted 500 bulbs on their campus in early December. This project was generously sponsored by the Table Rock Kiwanis Club. “Inspired by Daffodils” student poetry and art contests will take place in April. Watch our Facebook page and your school’s emails for more information.
Co-chairs Eden Foster and Jayne Garland are grateful for the enthusiasm and support of the volunteers, city staff and donors to this City beautification effort. Your hard work will pay off in “daffodil joy” for years to come! We are still accepting funds for this year and next. Just click on the links below and you’ll be able to make an online donation.
