Following the September 2020 wildfire that devastated the Central Point section of the Bear Creek Greenway, the City of Central Point took over ownership of the 52 acres site. The city has implemented regular maintenance measures to minimize the risk of future fires and have increased police patrols to improve public safety. For the next step in the management process, the Central Point Parks Department has contracted with Scharen Design Studio to develop a master plan for the area.
Over the past few months, we have been developing park design options, completed a public questionnaire, held an open house in October 2023, and now have a draft master plan available for public review. Please click on the link below to view the master plan design for the new park area.
